OpenTravel Alliance Announces Linux Foundation Membership

The OpenTravel Alliance, the interoperability data standard for the travel industry for the past twenty years has joined the Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization enabling mass innovation through open source.

“By aligning with the Linux Foundation, OpenTravel is primed to tap into best practices and cutting edge technologies that will further advance the adoption of the travel standards, OpenTravel Alliance Managing Director Jeff ErnstFriedman said.

OpenTravel will remain an independent organization but now will begin to align strategically with other open-source projects and their members who share a common goal of building, promoting, and adopting open standards throughout the travel vertical.

The Linux Foundation is supported by more than 1,000 members and considers itself the world’s leading home for collaboration on open source software, open standards, open data, and open hardware.
