OpenTravel Alliance Need to Know: Golf 2.0 Project

February 8, 2017

The OpenTravel Alliance is a not-for-profit alliance responsible for non-proprietary technology that enables business partnerships to thrive by developing and maintaining interoperability for disparate systems in all verticals of the travel industry.Through its workgroups, OpenTravel serves the needs of specific travel industry segments. The workgroups also identify the scope of work for the respective segments and develop specifications and messaging through member proposed project teams.

OpenTravel’s Golf 2.0 Specification has been finalized and is now in the review process.Take this opportunity to review and comment on the specification before its publication!

2.0 is available for the travel industry as a whole, meaning it can facilitate golf bookings from various verticals, such as hotel or car rental, and vice versa. The vertical also bridges the distribution gap and creates more opportunities for bookings. The 2.0 object model solution is available to everyone in the travel industry as a free, non-proprietary tool so that organizations don’t have to recreate the tool themselves. One of the benefits of using the tool is the 2.0 model automatically generates both XML and JSON, which provides the ability to implement both robust applications and lightweight messaging for mobile compatibility.
